Wow. The Livejournal app for iPhone finally works without crashing my phone. Amazing! Maybe I can even post without it throwing a wobbly. It's only taken about five months for the thing to sort itself out.

Well, hello World, how the devil are you today?

Title: I Like You (Like Me) 1/2
Author: carmexgirl
Recipient: janie_tangerine
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: N/A
Spoilers: none
Word Count: ~11,000
Notes: Written for the deancastiel Everlasting Birthday Challenge. Happy Birthday janie_tangerine!
Prompt: Any setting you can come up with where Dean is the one hopelessly pining for Castiel and he's in a position where he thinks there's no chance they can get together. And where he actually has to work to win Cas over when said chance actually happens. If you want to make it canon you're more than welcome to use the current events, but if you want AU then I'm totes okay with it as well.
Summary: AU.  Dean’s the owner of his own pretty successful coffee shop, and he’s absolutely, totally not in love with the hot accountant guy who comes in every day. He’s way out of his league. Isn’t he?

Also available in one long chapter here at Archive of Our Own.

I'm not even religious, but I'm seriously considering praying right now. This shit is unreal.

To everyone experiencing this horror, stay safe. Don't let the mindless idiots win.

Title: Childe Winchester to the Dark Tower Came
Author:  carmexgirl

Claim: Childe Roland
Genre: Adventure/Romance
Pairing/Characters: Dean/Castiel, plus minor Sam, Gabriel, and a few others
Rating:  PG-13
Word Count: ~ 13,400
Warning: AU, possible disturbing imagery

Summary: When his childhood friend Castiel disappears, Childe Winchester abandons his one and only chance to become a Knight to save him, embarking upon a perilous journey to Elfland and the mysterious Dark Tower that lies behind its walls.  Written for [info]dc_everafter.

A/N: This story is a mixture of the old English fairy tale Childe Rowland, and the Robert Browning poem Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came. It’s not based on the Stephen King novels mainly because I haven’t read them.  Kind of want to now though.  Also 'widdershins' is an old English word meaning to run opposite to the apparent motion of the sun, or counterclockwise.  Enjoy!

Oh hey there, LJ.  Been a while since I updated, well, anything.  Find I have a lot less time on my hands to putter about teh interwebs than I used too.  I've gotten myself an exercise regime which is non negotiable (in that I'm pretty obsessed with it and feel bad when I don't exercise) so I'm doing that 4 times a week.  It's paying off, believe me!  Buns of steel...well, a little less like jelly at any rate :p

I've been watching the first season of Fringe after someone lovely sent me the box set.  I have to say, I'm really liking it so far--can't predict where it's going, and the more and more things are revealed the more it sucks me in, which is a feat for a TV show because I'm so bloody picky usually, I get bored after about 5 episodes.  Lost and the X Files both couldn't hold my interest, even though I'm sure if I made the effort they'd be right up my street.  Anyway, Walter = ♥ and Olivia kicks ass in the most amazing ways. I'm nearly finished with season one and have already got season 2 because I know I won't be able to wait.

Also...I signed up for [info]dc_everafter I'm doing Childe Roland because one of my favourite poems is based on it (Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came by Robert Browning) and I actually never knew it was a fairy tale.  Anyway, I'm 4000 words in and I don't post until July 19, but I'm loving writing it so far.

In other news, CB goes on holiday to Spain on Thursday, so I'll be having four days completely to myself.  Reckon I'll be bored out of my mind...
